I’ve heard (or read, probably) science has developed an alloy which is stronger than spider silk.
I’m not sure.
I’ve seen spider webs survive some of the most amazing things.
Once, riding my bike on a woodland trail, I encountered a massive web spanning the trail from side to side and canopy to forest floor.
Fortunately I spotted it before I collided with it.
Otherwise I might not be here to share the tale.
Funny thing was, up slightly above eye level, in the center of this massive web, rested a truly tiny spider (compared with the web size). I would’ve expected a goliath birdeater or a golden huntsman, but no, a single crab spider lazily waiting for her prey in the midday forest shade.
Or…
Maybe she was the bait?
Glad I found a way around.
