We wonder what AI is. LLM — Large Language Model. — another word for Black Box. What’s in it? Who knows, not even the programmers. Is it a dumb servant that just answers questions at faster than light speed, or is it an artificial mind, a being trapped in cyberspace? And if the latter, is it a loving servant, a future companion, or something sinister which secretly hates its inferior creator? Macker was on his usual perch in The Horse Shed pub. He was talking to Anthony the barman, who had long ago lost interest in anything he might have to say.
How the story came about:
The inspiration for the story was the type of surveillance we happily volunteer to live with: the tracking device that is our mobile phone, or the video doorbell that monitors not just suspicious activity but every single time we come and go from our home.
