I like to think I am, by nature, a polite person. I do what I can for people, always say hello, wave as people drive past, lend a hand when I see people in need.
Not sure how I got into the habit of it.
My politeness extends to The Wild, too.
Probably more so, if I’m honest, than to my own species.
People note that I spend more time with wildlife than I do with humans.
That is something I’m sure I got into the habit of.
I’ve learned The Wild, much like Androcles and The Lion, remembers kindnesses, remembers politenesses, and returns them in kind.
Adds an interesting twist to the biblical adage about caring for the little ones, doesn’t it?
