I recognize weaknesses in my craft.
They irritate me due to their ubiquity.
No one else notices them, for which I am glad.
But I know they’re there. Lurking. Waiting. Ready to tumble and stumble me with the least provocation.
It’s like the musician who knows their performance is off and isn’t sure how. Is it the timing? The emphasis? The articulation?
In my case, I seek out those wiser than I when I recognize a weakness in my craft.
Fortunately, there’s lots of them out there. They’re not always easy to find, and I’m rather dogged in such things.
Enjoy!
