Just so you’ll know, I blather at the beginning of this experiment. I violated one of my rules for these and edited it.
Kind of fitting considering today’s topic.

I’m sure I’ve mentioned previously how much I wait between rough draft and first edit. If I haven’t, allow me to mention it here.
I take time between the rough draft and my first edit of a piece, and it’s dependent on the length of the piece.
For example, pieces less than ~500 words? They’re pretty much complete as I draft them. But novels? Oy, I can go through revision after revision after revision. Short stories I’ll put aside for several months to a year, and the length of time increases as does the word count.
