Like the background?
Whether you do or don’t, it’s eye-catching. It’s eye-catching for lots of reasons that have to do with evolutionary behavior, neurophysiology, visual cognition, unintentional awareness, blah blah blah.
Yeah, Joseph studies a lot.
This post is about distractions, specifically being distracted when you should be producing content. Today’s world is rife with distractions…
Or is it?
All those words I used above? They’re things evolution put into us because for longer than can be recognized we were prey and the world wasn’t forgiving.
Modern advertisers and marketers spend lots of money understanding those words and their meanings so they can pull you away from whatever you’re doing to do what they want you to do.
It’s kind of defeating cycle. They pull you away, you don’t make money. You don’t make money, you can’t buy want they want you to buy.
More to our discussion, you can’t produce content if you’re distracted.
So let’s turn the tables on that. Recognize what distracts you and use it to keep readers focused on your work.
Yeah, that’s the ticket.
Enjoy
