Have you ever read a story in which the setting was so real, so vividly imagined, you got lost there?

How about a story where the setting is so intimately a part of the plot it stops being simply the background to the story but an integral part of the plot? No longer “where things happen” and now “things had to happen here”?

How about a story where the setting plays such a part of the story’s premise, plotline, and resolution the story couldn’t exist without it? Kind of like a story can’t exist without a protagonist, an antagonist, and other, necessary…

…CHARACTERS!

I relish such stories and work at making my stories’ settings so vivid the reader gets immersed, wants to be immersed, as if bathing in holy waters, and is reluctant to leave that place because reality is a pale reflection of it.

Yeah. I like to write.
